Beta Terms BETA
Last updated July 15, 2026
Thank you for testing Good Night Tales in beta. This document describes what to expect during the beta period.
What "beta" means
The Service is in active development and testing. This means:
- Features may change without notice
- Stories, audio, and cover art quality may vary
- Bugs, errors, and unexpected behavior are possible
- Data may be deleted at any time without notice
- The Service may go offline temporarily or permanently
By using the beta, you understand and accept these conditions.
What we're doing with your data during beta
- We use it to test the Service — generate stories, debug issues, and improve features
- We may delete it at any time — without notice, especially when transitioning to a paid launch
- We do not sell it — to anyone, ever
- We do not use it for advertising — your child's data is not used for targeting
- We may share anonymized aggregate insights — like "average story length" but never anything that could identify a child
Children's privacy (COPPA compliance)
Good Night Tales is designed for families with children of all ages, including those under 13. We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- Parental consent required — A parent or legal guardian must create the account, set up the child's profile, and accept these beta terms on behalf of any minor user.
- No behavioral advertising — We do not serve ads, period. Not contextual, not behavioral, not anywhere in the Service.
- No third-party tracking — We do not embed third-party trackers (Facebook Pixel, Google Analytics, etc.) that follow children across sites.
- Limited data collection — Only what's needed to generate personalized bedtime stories: the child's first name, age, interests, and the story universe derived from their inputs.
- Parental review & deletion rights — Parents can review all data we've stored about their child at any time, edit it, or request deletion. Deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
- No public sharing by default — Stories are private to the family unless the parent explicitly opts in to sharing.
- Email for COPPA inquiries: coppa@signalloomai.com
By using this Service for a child under 13, you confirm you are the child's parent or legal guardian and accept these terms on their behalf.
What you can do at any time
- Delete your account — this removes all your data within 30 days
- Export your stories — download audio, text, and cover art for personal use
- Stop using the Service — your data will be retained per our retention policy, but no new data will be collected
- Email us with concerns at beta@signalloomai.com
What we promise during beta
- No surprises with billing — beta is free. We will give you 30+ days notice before any paid launch.
- No data sharing with advertisers — period.
- Reasonable security — we encrypt data in transit and at rest, limit access, and respond to incidents promptly.
- Honest communication — if we find a bug, we tell you. If we change something significant, we let you know.
What you agree to
- Don't put anything in the Service that you can't lose — your kid's bedtime story is precious, but don't add anything that would be devastating to lose.
- Be patient with bugs — we're working hard, but it's beta.
- Give us feedback — we genuinely want to know what's working and what isn't.
- Don't redistribute the Service — keep it for your family for now.
When beta ends
When we transition to a paid launch (targeting late 2026), we will:
- Notify you at least 30 days in advance
- Provide a full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for review
- Give you the option to subscribe, export your data, or delete it
- Continue providing your data for at least 90 days after launch

Note for the founder: This is a placeholder beta terms page. Before the paid launch, replace with the full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (drafts prepared separately). Get attorney review for both before public release.
